Videogaming heaven

To coincide with the anniversary of my birth, I am looking into the waaaaaaaaaaayback machine once again to look at my top ten videogames (in no particular order)

10 - Gauntlet - original arcade cabinet. The amount of hours I spent down the front in Whitley with the lads playing games was quite a lot - top game - death was a motherf*cker though.
9 - The New Zealand Story - You are a yellow chick trying to rescue your pals from the stomach of a ginormous walrus -- fucking ace
8 - Championship Manager - yeah, I know it's a management sim, but damn awesome fun - Whitley Bay fc top of the league, best team in the world. heh
7 - Super Mario two - bastard hard, but great fun
6 - Supremacy - I spent 15 hours straight playing this with my cousin and mates - nuff said.
5 - Frontier, Elite II - The best free raoming game, bar none. If I could find it now i'd quit qork and play this for months on end.
4 - Final Fantasy 7 - I'll admit it, this is the only game to make me cry - when Aeris dies in Cloud's arms is the most shocking thing you'll ever witness.
3 - Resident Evil (Biohazard to our Japanese cousins) - just brilliant, the most atmospheric game you'll ever play.
2 - Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas - the sheer joy of shooting a cop then running over thirty of his mates still makes me laugh to this day. Plus you get to kill people with a tank later on.
1 - Jet Set WIlly - the hardest game ever, I still can't get more than 4 screens in - too hard, but soooo easy to get back into.

whadddyyyyyya think then????????????

Film Stuff

Thanks to Moshhttp://moshtour.me.uk/ for responding to my film stuff. But you're wrong fella - only one top sports film out there- in my opinion anyway.

so anyway, I got to thinking about more films and in this list I will go over some of the films that have had the most effect on me (not all of these are comedies though).

1 - Bowling for Columbine - NRA & Charlton Heston are w*nkers (in my opinion) - Hey kids, it's okay for your 6 year old kid to hold a gun, and if there's an accident - then it's their fault, not ours! - Tossers.
2 - Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers - Best film I have seen for ages. Utterly compelling and one of the few times that I have wanted to go straight back in the flicks and watch it again.
3 - Old Boy - Korean Masterpiece - One of the most disturbing films you'll ever see.
4 - Supersize me - I'll never go into a fast food joint without knowing the consequences again.
5 - Fahrenheit 911 - It makes my blood boil watching this film - Bush is a coward, the people who voted him in do need to be reminded that they have installed a leader far worse than Saddam Hussain ever was. Fucking Yanks - hey everybody, we came late into every war so we could make money from both sides - now we own all the financial clout on the planet and you'll do as you're told.
6 - Blazing Saddles - If you meet me and a few of my cousins (well, me, my bro', Joe and Dyl)you can guarantee that we will start at some point reciting the lines from the film word perfect - "D'you want some more beans Mr. Taggert?" "I'd say you'd had enough".
7 - The sure thing - Early John Cusack that made me want to Hitch across America meeting girls.
8 - The Empire Strikes Back - At last, a bad guy wins a film - bloody marvellous - before Lucas screwed up the trilogy anyway.
9 - Tis is Spinal Tap - It goes all the way up to 11 man.
10 - The Sting - Robert Redford and Paul Newman - Classic Heist film - the best con ever.

next use of the waaaaaaaay back machine - my top ten videogames of all time.

8 - Fight Club - Rule Number 1 - You don't talk about fight club.

Well, i don't really know.

Things I learned today.
1 - I have a major caffeine addiction due to the work/free tea and coffee syndrome. Might just have to start drinking water only at work.
2 - I am the first person here to slate the scepos, but I am starting to really get into the baseball on Channel 5 - really good telly late at night when I can't sleep due to too much caffeine the during the day - I was bloody knackered at work this morning though.
3 - As I approach my mid-life crisis (some would say I have already had at least one), I seem to be thinking more and more like my forebears. It's quite disturbing.
4 - I seem to have lost my passion for reading, which is a shame as I count reading as one of my more relaxing pastimes.
anyway, it's late, i'm tired and am about to go to bed. Here's a picture to while away the wee small hours. One Virgin's Neck, ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah (thanks to Somethingawful.com for that one)

Wahey!

just a couple of points at this late hour.
1 - Sunderland Fans - We'll meet again, don't know how, don't know when" ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha - bye bye bye bye bye bye. No trip to Wearyside for a few years.

2 - Hints and tips for visitors to London - Take goddam earplugs with you. All day on sunday all I could hear was the sound of crying babies everywhere. To quote the late great Bill "Lord of the Goatboys" Hicks - "Having a baby is no more a miracle than eating and then taking a dump, f*cking mewling Cabbages", "Here's a miracle, try raising a kid that will stay quiet in a movie theatre". Bloody Kids.

The inevitable

Now, normally I wouldn't get too political as there are more than enough ranting politico loons around, but....................
It transpires that Tony Bliar (New Labour Nazi, warmongering scum and one man responsible for introducing faith-based terrorism around the world) has pulled out of a visit to the US as his aides think his image would be damaged by being pictured next to the US president.

That's all well and good Tone, but surely you might have thought about this a few years ago when you gave the unconditional support of this country to your Amercan Puppet-master. How about this Tone, you go on Telly and tell the British people that you are sorry for being a warmonger, a mass-murderer and general scumbag; then please go on and tell the UK that you are pulling the troops out of Iraq as you don't want them to be bigger targets to the Shi'ites - especially as Bush is going to Nuke Iran in the next couple of months.
Then I might consider voting again.

deep breath- rant over.

Not been posting much recently - been very busy with work.

a few things first - Helllllllllllllooooooooo to Mosh - I hope the world tour is going okay - been reading the blog and it looks like fun.

Helllllllllllllloooooooooo to my only sibling he's on the interweb at http://www.doingwot.blogspot.com - nice picture of Joe by the way.

Goodbyyyyyyyeeeeeeeee to NCI cricket this season - my knee is so fucked up that not only will my lovely other half kill me, but my doctor said that no exercise other than light workouts are a good idea. Bugger.

other than that - i'll try to keep up with the updating on a more regular basis.
