Oh yeah!

Friday I buggered my knee up in the office (more on this later, but I am due to see the surgeon in a couple of weeks time), but my managers in a twist on a theme sent everybody home early due to the amount of work we'd done this week. Nice.
Friday night picked up cousin Dylan from Cambridge station after his extended sojourn in Polski. Went for a beer in a nice pub which turned out to be very busy so we went to the chav pub down the road. Got to say that friday was the first time in ages that I've been in a pub late and the workers just turned off the lights to make us leave. Good customer service;-)

Saturday rolls around and I go shopping for some new sporting equipment, and was shocked to pay £50 for a rugby shirt. Bought a Falcons shirt anyway.

Saturday afternoon comes along and my knee is good enough for me to attempt to play cricket (I say attempt as I am not the most athletic of cricketers).

anyway, turned up in Soham and batted first. Dyl was still around so he watched us play. I think he was suprised by the amount of banter from us lot. still I batted at 6 and scored 31 not out.

This means that I have beaten my highest season's runs scored for any season for NCI. I scored 192 in my first year in the bottom division, scored not many the next year and around 80 last year.
this year i've scored 218 runs at an average of around 27 (i think) - I'll have to check the stats later.
Earlier Post on my cricketing nightmare

I am a happy bunny this weekend *grin*.

photos to come soon - there are even some action shots!

Re-Title-ing

I have on occasion said that I am going to rename my small corner of the web.
I have had a few suggestions regarding the new title of this collection of rants.
Mosh came up with C*ntflaps (thanks Man). Hope you enjoy Darwin.
Loula said I should keep it as it is.
One of my friends reckons I should call it RANT
another of my mates thinks it should be "Northern Shite"
so, as I can't think of anything new at the minute, then it stays as it is for the mo.

On the plus side of everything at the minute, I've got the week off cricket (no game) and so my achilles tweak should get a bit better. Yesterday I had my brain photographed (photos enclosed) - I am thinking of turning the images into funky Christmas Cards - I think they should say something like "Thinking of you at Christmas" or "Christmas on my mind".
anyway - off now - talk later

Deep breath.........calm down dear

Right, I am over the last rant about the israeli death machine. for now.
see the water, feel the movement of the sea. calm.........

I am off work today and have been down to the old smoke. I hate London - it's really bloody annoying. Mostly I hate the shoppers and the pollution. still I could live there just so I could go the British Museum every week. marvellous place.

anyway - it's the end of the week and that means getting ready for cricket on saturday. Last week I foolishly set myself a target which i failed miserably to get. no talk of targets this week - just bring it on.
n.b - photos to come of the cricket tomorrow.

Murderers

I know I am going to get a lot of bitching about this, but here goes.

You are a country of murderers. It's all well and good to say that you need to do what you're doing, but to then tell innocent civilians to get out of the country, then start bombing any cars that try to escape; why that's the kind of thing that the Yankee cowards would do. Also since when are children legitimate targets? Maybe, just maybe somebody will try to explain just how cowardly it is to you one day. But I doubt you'll listen.

Changes to come

Well, it's come to this.
I am giving up the alcohol (kind of). The back story behind this is the fact that I keep getting hammered after cricket at the weekends and am getting very badly behaved with it. So far we have:-
3 nights of guilt-free sex with women I am probably not going to see again
1 bike stolen
1 mugging (I was mugged while on my bike, weaving side-to-side pissed)
lots of money spent

so after deliberations I am going to either quit altogether or cut it down to a rigid 1 pint a week after cricket.

more changes coming soon
