We love Temudgin

Went to see Mongol at the cinema this week, after a week of dilly-dallying about going to the cinema on my own.
Anyway, went and it was fucking awesome. Top, top film. Great acting and the scenery was immense. There were a few moments of the film plainly made up for poetic licence, but on the whole I loved it. The actors stood out, The guy who played the young Temudgin and the young actress who played his wife to be, Borte were excellent - just wish I'd seen more of it.
His blood brother was played by an asian actor who I last saw as the mad general in Seven Swords (another film i'd heartily recommend). anyhoo.
seal of approval on this film. you must see this.

D-Day

Well, it's going to be a day of mourning for me on friday.
The woman who I have a lot of warm feelings about is leaving the office on friday.
I am a bit down.

Sunburn, the warm glow of victory and sunday beers

The weekend rolls round after a week of scrabbling around for players for the saturday game.
Saturday afternoon rolls round and we have destroyed our opposition by 75 runs. heh.
today I have the luxury of picking 6 players who normally play in the second eleven - and the team we play are bottom of the league. it can only come unstuck spectacularly.
sunday I sat in the sun with a hat on and got absolutely hammered on German Purity lager and cider - ooohhh dear.

The weekends antics

First up -
spent friday helping JP and Diane move house.
saturday - spent saturday getting miffed at my cricket team - we still won with ease
Sunday - went to the flicks to see the Indy film - not bad, a little overblown but on the whole good entertainment
