muthaf*cking b*stards

tonight's post is a late one because my housemates decided to have a fucking shower at 12.30am!-I CAN HEAR EVERYTHING YOU IDIOTS. THIS MEANS THAT WHEN YOU ARE HAVING SEX IN THE SHOWER I GET TO LISTEN TO TWO POLES HAVE WHINY SEX EVERY NIGHT. wankers.

hey ho - now I can't get back to sleep I think i'll get around to posting some stuff that I've been musing over this week.
in no particular order..........
1 - The rt. hon. John Reid stopping unskilled workers coming into the UK from new EU states.RIGHT ON. I don't have a problem with anybody coming to the UK to work, but if all they are going to do is work in shops and bars then what's the goddam point? skilled jobs only? grrrrrrr. Then again my job is unskilled at the best of times.

2 - The US elections - the quicker the democrats win back congress and the senate the better. If nothing else it'll make bush stop lying about EYE-Raq - "I never said we would stay the course" - wha?????

3 - Cambridge. The University has just let all of the new students back into the town. This means that for the next 6 months my daily cycle ride to work is going to be like playing frogger. move forward, avoind idiot on bike, avoid other idiot on bike, avoid accident, etc, etc. Please do me a favour and learn the rules of the road. Thanks.

off now - got to think of the rest of my a-z of me.

A riposte to the pc brigade

This was printed in an Australian newspaper some time ago - I like it. - The last two sentences are particularly relevant at this time.

Australia - The Right to Leave

After Sydney not wanting to offend other cultures by putting up Xmas lights. After hearing that the State of South Australia changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's license with her face covered. This prompted this editorial written by an Australian citizen.

Published in an Australian newspaper.

Quote: IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.
However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia.
However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.
This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.
This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the language!
"In God We Trust" is our National Motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, Because God is part of our culture.
If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like " A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.
We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, And we really don't care how you did things where you came from.
This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.
But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our National Motto, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,
"THE RIGHT TO LEAVE".
If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted. Pretty easy really, when you think about it.

A-M of stuff about me, stuff I like and more

Been meaning to do this for a while. anyway here goes.

A - A is for Arse! - my favourite and most-used expletive. A is also for my father's surname - not mine though.

B -
b is for Bro'. My brother to be exact. photo to the left (although not the most flattering methinks). B is also for Bush and Blair - two reasons why radicalised terrorism is reaching UK shores.

C - C is for Cambridge, where I live now. C is also for Cricket - my favourite game. C is also for Century - of which I have yet to score for my club. C is also for Claire, my mum's sister and one of the coolest people in the world. C is also for chin, see aerlier posts for when I chinned myself with a cricket ball. C is also for clubbing.

D - D is for Damo (me - photo to the left). D is also for Depeche Mode, second favourite band. D is also for diet - gotta lose more weight.

E - E is for Europe, where I have done the bulk of my holidaying. E is also for Eyes, the first thing I check out when meeting a woman for the first time. E is also for Ephesus - an absolutely beautiful place to visit.

F - F is for The Foo Fighters. Best band in the world and if anybody is listening then live tickets would be the perfect present. F is also for FOUR - best shot is the punch back past the bowler's face at a very large rate of knots.

G - G is for G, my mum. Quite simply the best mum anybody could have. How she survived through the crap I gave her is beyond me - methinks she should be nominated for sainthood. G is also for Gwen, my grandmother and possibly the only woman in the world who scares me.

H - H is for hope. H is also for happiness.

I - I is for Impatient. Possibly my most annoying habit.

J - J is for J, no more but still thought of. J is also for another J - she's gorgeous. J is also for James - top bloke.

K - K is for kids. Don't have any and don't really want any either.

L - L is for Love, Lust and life.

M - M is for Meg - Jimbo's missus and an absolute sweetheart. M is also for
music, movies and manga. Three of my favourite things.

m is also for more to come.

Currently listening to Moloko - the time is now.

moving on

This post is bought to you by the fine folks at 'Damien is feeling sorry for himselfCo'.

I got to thinking today that my life is a total nightmare. I have a job that is easy, co-workers who are nice, and a house that doesn't require much maintenance!
nightmare!

I dunno, I seem to have had a hard time of everything over the last couple of weeks, virus-flu-virus and now flu again.
Still, it's nearly time for my annual trip to the motherland to see my folks (who I don't see enough of).
Thinking about work a bit more, how is it possible to have met a woman with the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen, and yet everytime I talk to her i get all tongue-tied and shy. You're 34 for god's (please insert whichever meaningless pseudo-supernatural made-upbeing you like here........Zeus, Odin, Elvis, etc) sake and start remembering that you are able to talk to women, no matter how gooey their eyes make you go.

anyhoo, the title of the post is to do with the fact that I actively looked into moving to another city today. I like cambridge but at the sametime it's starting to piss me off. no internet, having to cycle through little gdansk every day to get to work, going into shops and not being able to understand the people working in it............

maybe I'm getting older.

Oh god! - it's getting worse

Had another week of no postings due to picking up a nasty virus last saturday/sunday (yes, the day after I went out and got battered). Went to work thrusday and was promptly sent home due to "looking like shit" - thanks boss. worked friday and had to give up on the work curry night as I still felt shite. Yesterday schlepped around the house and today tidied up. What a life a life I lead.

Got to start going out again. I seem to have become a fucking hermit since i split with J. Anyhoo, looks like this should be a quiet month in terms of doing stuff. No more weddings or other stuff to go to. Got the cricket club end of season do at the end of the month - that usually turns into a night of cringing embarrassment when the speeches start. heh.

Well, tonight I've been perusing the web in between bouts of not getting any bandwidth (again, urrrgh) I have been looking at myspace for no reason. god I am bored.

will talk next week, hopefully.
