Bank Holiday Blues.

It's a bank holiday in the UK. This means that unless you're one of the several million people who are going anywhere, then you just sit around doing sod all. I would be in the latter category.
Currently Listening to the Best of Depeche Mode (electropop at it's greatest, before Dave Gahan got all moody and drug-addled). Surfing the web on our useless interweb connection, 2 megs per second my arse.

today's topic. Other stuff that is making me unhappy at the minute.

1 - The NHS. I have a massive knee injury (office related) which I did in early January. I have been to my local doctor 4 times for it, they referred me to a specialist at the fourth visit. Been to see the specialist, and he has agreed to put me on a waiting list for an MRI and an arthroscopy. This was 3 weeks ago. Have I heard from the consultant or the hospital about either of things? HAVE I BUGGERY. It's getting more and more likely that I will take up my work's policy of paying 50+% of my BUPA bills and just get it seen to.

2 - Holiday time. I am off to Valencia the end of next week and am looking forward to it. But the main problem for me is how much shops charge for needful items. Suncream - £5! Sunglasses £30 upwards if you want decent ones. grr. Or at least I could learn to not break any new ones I get.

3 - Religion. I've seen and read the Da Vinci Code, read the book first actually. The film
is utter shite, but here's my problem. The Catholics, Anglicans and Hindus are talking about wanting this to have a disclaimer on the front of the film about how this is a work of fiction. Get over it you fucking idiots. The reason for dwindling church attendances isn't due to a series of books about how the establishment have lied to the populace. It's because people are starting to realise that organised religions are just an exercise in futility and tithing an already rich organisation. Apart from in the US anyway, where you still get people saying "I think what God meant to say was.................." (Thanks to the late, great Bill Hicks for that one).

anyway I am off to the shops to get essentials. back with more soon.
